As I was purchasing some new white tees online from the Gap, because I received a coupon via email, I realized I have a uniform. Most days, since I do a lot of work from home, it’s a white tee and black yoga pants.
Keeping it simple, I can leave the house to run an errand and MAYBE look like I’m on my way to work out. Most people who know me well, will know that’s not true!
The uniform concept stems back to high school when I wore an official uniform, a navy and white jumper. I loved my uniform, well, I love plaid! The great thing about a uniform is that you don’t have to really think about what you wear that day, just get up and go, jump into your day. Now, we did accessorize with purses and bows, big bows, it was the ’80s and a lot of preparation went into that the night before.
My other uniform is a white shirt, black capris and flats, accessorized with a great pop of color with a purse or scarf and jewelry. (No bow.) This is how the French do it. Find what looks great on you, buy it in every color. Make it work, according to Tim Gunn.
What’s your uniform?
